    Ceremonial cacao vs regular chocolate

So what sets ceremonial cacao apart from your average Hershey’s bar? For starters, it’s not processed with sugar and other additives. Ceremonial cacao is made from raw cacao beans that are minimally processed and grown explicitly for ceremonial purposes. It is often consumed in a ritualistic setting to enhance spiritual and emotional experiences. This allows the natural properties of the cacao to shine through, both in flavour and in its physical and mental benefits. Regular chocolate, on the other hand, undergoes a more extensive manufacturing process and often contains added sugar and other ingredients.

How to prepare the best ceremonial cacao hot chocolate

Start by adding all ingredients except the sweetener (if using) in a small saucepan and heat on a low flame. Keep stirring to ensure there are no lumps of cacao. Heat till the mixture is smooth and velvety. Do not let it boil.

Next, use a hand blender to blend till smooth. Add the sweetener at this stage (if using). Stir well and enjoy!
